Blizzard
Beach
Disney's Blizzard Beach water park
in Walt Disney World. The idea came to mind during a freak winter
storm that covered part of Disney World with snow. Plans were
then made, and miniature models were developed. Now Blizzard Beach
is finished and is Disney's first ski resort. The whole park is
covered with ice and snow. (fake of course) You can ride toboggans
in an exciting race, or challenge the Summit Plummet which is
a 120 ft. drop, in which you travel at speeds of 60 miles per
hour. (twice that of Humunga Cowabunga at Typhoon Lagoon) At the
highest point of the park is Mount Gushmore, were Summit Plummet
sits waiting for its next challenger! To get to the top of Mount
Gushmore you can walk up the pathways, or take an awesome ski
lift. The ski lifts are all equipped with colourful umbrella's
and ski equipment.

Typhoon
Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon is a 56 acre water
amusement park. The Lagoon homes the largest manmade watershed
mountain, Mt. May Day. Sitting on top of Mt. May Day is Miss Tilly
an old shrimp boat that was brought from Safen Sound Florida.
Miss Tilly erupts every half hour causing a 50 foot flume of water
to spray out the boats smokestack. Typhoon Lagoon is also the
place to see one of the largest wave pools in the US. The pool
is 2 1/2 acres, and holds 2.75 million gallons of water. The pool
has been surrounded with a white sand beach to relax and catch
some sun. The wave pool produces 4 foot waves every 90 seconds
that you can body surf on, or just try to make it over. There
is a tropical setting throughout the park that includes, palm
trees, tropical flowers, and tropical noises.

Orange Blossom Trail, Gatorland is one of Central Florida's oldest

the larger theme parks of today. Founded by the late Owen Godwin
in 1949, and still privately owned by his family today, Gatorland
is a 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve, combining "Old
Florida" charm with exciting, new exhibits and entertainment.
Known internationally as the "Alligator Capital of the World,"
Gatorland today provides affordably priced family-fun with thousands
of alligators and crocodiles, a breeding marsh with boardwalk
and observation tower, one-of-a-kind reptilian shows, miniature
water park, aviary, petting zoo, swamp walk, educational programs
and much, much more. |
